Dave started fishing the Catskills at four years old, cutting his teeth on largemouth bass and sunfish before moving on to trout. He picked up his first fly rod at ten and landed his first wild Delaware River rainbow under the mentorship of legendary guide Lee Hartman — the trip that set the hook for good.
His career in the fishing world started early: working the counter at a local bait and tackle shop at ten years old, then co-owning a Long Island fishing shop in his early twenties. In between, he spent over a decade working as a bayman on local waters, building an intimate knowledge of the region's fish populations and habitat — the same knowledge that puts clients on fish today.
