About your Guide

 Capt. Dave Flanagan is a USCG licensed captain with an O.U.P.V.  6 Pack license.With over 20 years boating experience on the Long Island Sound and surrounding waters we can assure your safety. 

I started my fishing addiction at the age of four in the Catskills. Largemouth Bass and Sunfish were the early targets, which later evolved into Trout. I picked up my first fly rod at age 10 and caught my first wild Delaware River Rainbow with the help of legendary guide Lee Hartman. Fly fishing soon become my passion and favorite method of fishing to this day.

 Ive been working in the fishing industry since the days of dishing out sandworms in the local B&T at age 10, to owning a shop on Long Island with my father in my early twenties. I’ve worked on the water as a baymen for over 10 years and have further extended my knowledge of the local waters. I know these areas and the fish that inhabit them like the back of my hand. This experience and time on the water is essential to making your day with me the most enjoyable as it can be. There’s is nothing more rewarding to me than sharing my knowledge with you to help you become a better fisherman. Beginner or experienced, there is always something you can learn from an experienced local guide like myself.
